Listen to lots of Finnish audio:
Finnish, alongside Swedish, is one of the official languages of Finland and an official minority language in Sweden. It is a member of the Finnic language family (this group also includes Estonian) and is spoken by over 5 million native speakers around the world.
Finnish has one of the longest words in the world--lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas (“airplane jet turbine engine auxiliary mechanic non-commissioned officer student”)--though it isn’t commonly used. And one of the oldest examples of Finnish writing that exists is a spell from the 1200s. And many heavy metal music lovers choose to learn the language because the genre is so popular in Finland and many songs are written in the language.
